Support DC Coats for Kids

Approximately 18 percent of American children and 14 percent of Canadian children live in poverty. According to the US Census Bureau, many low-income families have scarce resources to cover even the most basic essentials. To combat this epidemic, the Knights of Columbus launched the Coats for Kids program to ensure that every child in North America would have access to a warm winter coat.

Since the program started in the District of Columbia in 2009, councils have purchased and distributed more than 500,000 new winter coats to children throughout North America.

In 2020, the District of Columbia State Council of the Knights of Columbus distributed over 3,000 coats to children in need. Coats are distributed to children ages 2-16 years old.
